Turk Station Lodge 1910
Turk Station was born in the late 1800's as a rail stop for the local cattle and sheep ranchers as a point to ship their livestock.  The station also supplied some equipment to the local and then booming oil industry.  Turk Station lodge is located about one half mile from the original rail site on land which once was owned by the Pleasant Valley Farming Company.  Pleasant Valley Farming Company was owned by a prominent San Francisco family and used for a farm to grow hay and feed for their chain of livery stables located in San Francisco.  In 1910 the plantation style home which is now Turk Station lodge was moved from the docks in San Francisco to its present location here at Turk Station. The house was originally destined for an unknown location in the Pacific Rim but the deal fell through.  The owner's of Pleasant Valley Farming Company purchased the home which was moved to its present site by mule train.

During your stay at Turk Station you will be able to enjoy many of the pictures that we have covering the history of Turk Station and Pleasant Valley Farming Company over the last century.
